Short answer first. Composite bonding at DentiCare in Dublin 7 costs €150 to €200 per tooth. A typical six tooth case comes to €900 to €1,200, and eight teeth to €1,200 to €1,600. It can be paid monthly through Humm, and your consultation is free if you are a PRSI contributor.

Bonding is priced per tooth, which is the part most people find confusing. Nobody bonds a single tooth in isolation unless they have chipped it. Most smile makeovers involve six, eight or ten teeth, so the per tooth figure only tells you half the story. Here is the full picture.

What you pay, tooth by tooth

Number of teethWhat it typically coversTotal cost
1 toothA single chip or a repaired edge€150–€200
4 teethThe four upper front teeth€600–€800
6 teethThe most common smile makeover, canine to canine€900–€1,200
8 teethA wider smile line, covering the premolars€1,200–€1,600

Where you land inside the €150 to €200 range depends on how much work each tooth needs.

  • Edge bonding. Rebuilding a chipped or worn biting edge is quicker and uses less material, so it sits at the lower end.
  • Full composite veneers. Covering the entire front surface of a tooth takes more time, more layering and more polishing, which moves it towards €200.
  • Gap closure. Closing a diastema means building out both neighbouring teeth in a way that still looks natural. Two teeth, one problem.

You can see what the results look like on real patients in our smile gallery, and there is a full account of one patient's experience in our composite bonding case study.

Why bonding costs less than veneers

Porcelain veneers involve a dental laboratory, at least two appointments, temporary veneers in between, and the permanent removal of a layer of enamel. That enamel does not grow back. The tooth is committed to being covered for the rest of its life.

Bonding is done chairside in a single visit. Resin goes onto the existing enamel, the dentist shapes it by hand, a curing light sets it, and it is polished. Nothing is removed in most cases, which means the treatment can be undone later if you change your mind. That combination of one visit, no lab and no enamel loss is the whole reason the price sits where it does.

More on how the treatment works is on our composite bonding page, and if you are weighing it against porcelain, see dental veneers.

The 20% you can claim back

Non-routine dental treatment qualifies for 20% tax relief in Ireland. Implants, crowns, root canal treatment, inlays, onlays and orthodontics are all eligible, and the qualifying treatments are marked on our price list. Your dentist gives you a signed Med 2 form, and you claim the relief through Revenue. On a €1,780 implant that is €356 back. Full criteria are on the Revenue website, and our tax relief guide walks through the claim step by step.

Paying monthly with Humm

DentiCare is an official Humm partner clinic. Humm is a buy now, pay later provider used across Ireland, and it lets you split treatment into monthly instalments instead of paying the full amount on the day. No hidden fees, and no penalty if you repay early.

How it works here

  1. Consultation. Free if you are a PRSI contributor, €50 if not. You leave with an itemised plan and exact costs.
  2. We set the finance up with you. Our team goes through the Humm options at the clinic and helps with the application, so you are not working it out on your own.
  3. Treatment begins. Once the finance is in place we book you in, and repayments come out monthly.

It applies across implants, crowns, composite bonding and braces. Terms are on our Humm finance page.

Frequently asked questions

How much is composite bonding for six teeth?

Between €900 and €1,200 at our Dublin 7 clinic, depending on whether the teeth need edge repairs or full composite veneers. You get the exact figure in writing at your consultation, before anything begins.

Is composite bonding cheaper than veneers?

Considerably, and not only on the day. Veneers involve lab fees and enamel removal, which commits the tooth permanently. Bonding is done in one visit with nothing removed.

How long does composite bonding last?

Typically five to seven years with good hygiene, and longer if you avoid biting pens, nails or ice. Individual teeth can be repaired or repolished along the way rather than redoing the whole case.

Does composite bonding qualify for tax relief?

It depends on the clinical reason for the treatment. Purely cosmetic work does not qualify, while restoring a damaged tooth may. Ask us at your consultation and we will tell you honestly which category your case falls into.

Are there hidden fees?

No. You receive a written plan listing every item before treatment starts. If something changes along the way, we discuss it with you before proceeding.

Do you accept medical cards?

We do not accept GMS medical cards. PRSI contributors get a free examination and a scale and polish for €15 once per calendar year. Details are on our PRSI page.

Book a consultation

Bonding is one of those treatments where the plan matters as much as the price. How many teeth actually need work, and whether whitening should come first, only becomes clear once someone looks properly. That consultation is free with PRSI. Contact our team in Phibsborough, Dublin 7 to book it.
